Salvation in Jesus Christ

Salvation is in Jesus Christ

'For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved'. Acts 4:12

What does being born again mean?
Jesus said in John 3:3-6 ‘I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again’ and again he said ‘no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit’.  Jesus is not saying that we need to be born-again in a natural sense, he is clarifying that to see and enter the Kingdom of God, this supernatural new birth by the Spirit is necessary.
Why must I be born again?
Romans 3:23-5 says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. You may think that you are a good person but justification cannot come by our own good deeds because justification is a free gift of God, which is received by faith, by acknowledging we are in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ the risen Lord. Sin and rebellion separates us from God but the good news is Jesus chose to be condemned in our place and laid his life down at the cross of Calvary, so that we could be made free to receive eternal life. This supernatural birth in spirit is the beginning of our eternal life. The Holy Spirit comes to live in us and we become part of God’s family.
How do I get born again?
  1. Acknowledge you have a sin nature and repent of all that you have done which is offensive to God—sin. Repentance means to change your mind about these things, ask God to forgive you
  2. Confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in a prayer of commitment to Him.
  3. Turn to God, receive eternal life.

The prayer of commitment to Jesus Christ

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for dying on the cross of Calvary for my sins.
Please forgive me.  I invite you to come into my life now. I receive you as my Savior and Lord.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit and
help me for the rest of my days until I meet you face to face in heaven.
In Jesus name I pray.
Amen
Five things you should do now:
  1. Tell somebody what Jesus has done for you;
  2. Share the love of God and the message of salvation with others continuously;
  3. Attend church regularly to worship and hear His Word corporately - faith grows by hearing God's Word;
  4. Study God's Word and look for opportunities to practice it, so that you may grow spiritually;
  5. Seek His Kingdom and righteousness first in your life and let Him add all else to you.
